Huawei's Honor 8 smartphone arrives in Malaysia on September 8 for RM 1,699

Today, Honor Malaysia is officially announcing the availability of the new Honor 8 smartphone for the Malaysian market. Beginning this Thursday (September 8), Honor Malaysia's partners (VMall, Lazada, DirectD) and third party retailers will begin offering Honor Malaysia's new Honor 8.

The Honor 8 was announced earlier this year as an affordable version of Huawei's P9 smartphone that featured a dual camera setup. The camera setup is not the only unique thing about the Honor 8, it also comes with a 2.5D glass front and back design that is reminiscent of Samsung's recent Galaxy smartphone.

In terms of pricing, the Honor 8 will be priced at RM 1,699 and RM 1,899 in Malaysia for the standard (32GB) and premium (64GB) variant respectively. Unlike previous launches, Honor Malaysia will not be putting the Honor 8 up for pre-order. Instead, the company will begin sales of the Honor 8 in Malaysia on September 8.

There might not be a pre-order promo but Honor Malaysia will be giving away free gifts worth up to RM 500 to the first 100 customers that purchase the Honor 8 through official channels (VMall, Lazada, DirectD).
